Creating Space for Women’s Voices: Gender Empowerment under the IRM Project
Past weeks, members of the Older People's Associations (OPAs) came together for the first of two gender empowerment trainings under our Interim Reparative Measures (IRM) Project. Women and men participated side by side in an interactive learning experience. Using picture cards, group activities and discussion, participants reflected on everyday roles and responsibilities, exploring questions such as: Who does the work in our community? Whose voices are heard when decisions are made?

The journey continues in a couple of weeks, when participants will come together again to deepen these conversations. The training aims to strengthen women's confidence and support them in speaking up for their communities when engaging with local decision-makers.

The IRM Project supports survivors of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) during the Khmer Rouge regime. It is co-implemented by Kdei Karuna Organization and TPO Cambodia with financial support from Global Survivors Fund.
