Students Engage in Family Dialogue on Khmer Rouge History at Reul High School, Pouk District, Siem Reap Province.
Siem Reap Province (July 27, 2026), Pouk district:

Staff from the Kdei Karuna Organization (KdK) and TPO Cambodia continued their efforts to promote the legacy of transitional justice and to provide guidance on facilitating family dialogues with students at Reul High School, Pouk District. This initiative was part of the Legacies Outreach events of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia - ECCC, delivered through the ECCC Mobile Resource Center (ECCC Bus). KdK and TPO also distributed informative leaflets explaining the concepts of transitional justice and offering guidelines for conducting family dialogues with grandparents at home about the experience during the Khmer Rouge regime. 24 (13 female) students, one survivor of the Khmer Rouge and one facilitator have joined and practiced these dialogues. The participants shared their reflections as follows:

--- Mr. CHAK Lumorng, Grade 10 student at Reul High School: “I learnt and increased my knowledge of people who did not have enough food to eat, threats, and family separation during the Khmer Rouge regime”.

In addition, 100 students received printed materials containing the Family Dialogue Guide, key messages on the legacy of transitional justice, and information on mental health. The “Justice and History Outreach (JHO) – Together Dealing with Past Khmer Rouge History after ECCC” project is technically and financially supported by GIZ-CPS, ZFD Ziviler Friedensdienst ,and jointly implemented with TPO Cambodia.
